For forty-five years I have been involved with youth, parents, and the educational system. Over the years I taught Kindergarten, second, third, fourth and eighth grades. I was a Family Education Specialist for five years before becoming a Certified School Counselor, working in both elementary and intermediate settings. My last sixteen years In education were spent serving as the Counselor for students at the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program, (DAEP). Working with students from first to twelfth grade provided me experience counseling students with a broad spectrum of behavioral and mental health concerns and enabled me to facilitate groups addressing a myriad of social, behavioral, and emotional needs.

In addition to my school setting experience, I held a License as a Professional Counselor for fifteen years, served as a Conflict Resolution volunteer for the Dispute Resolution Center, and facilitated Ropes Course activity workshops. I worked with the court system of Montgomery County teaching the mandated “Remember the Children“ class to divorcing parents.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Counseling, and I am A Certified School Counselor. Currently, I am a national trainer for the WhyTry Resiliency Program and am certified as a Behavioral Insights Provider through Managing Your Crazy Self (MYCS).
