Fear, anxiety, and shame are often the root causes of many of our society’s mental struggles and concerns.  Being able to help you see your worth, find lasting hope and courage in the darkest situations, and turn crippling anxiety into positive goal-setting energy in a warm, unconditionally accepting partnership is what I, as an LPC Associate, am committed to bring to our counseling relationship.  My vast experience as an educator, twenty-three as a teacher and eight years as a certified school counselor, my thirty years as a mother, and thirty-four years as a wife have opened many life opportunities for me to gain much wisdom and insight. More importantly, my walk in faith as a believer in Christ for over forty years has provided me with much compassion and faith in God and a belief that we  all have a purpose in this life we have been given. I attended Christ for the Nations Bible College and earned a degree in missions as a young adult; so, helping others has always been a part of my life path.

My bachelor’s degree in education was earned at the University of Texas at Tyler and my master’s degree in Clinical Counseling was received at Sam Houston State University.  I have just completed my final requirements to become a Licensed Professional Counselor- Associate in the state of Texas. My plan is to eventually become a registered play therapist in order to assist children and families with various needs of counseling due to multiple forms of trauma.

Ultimately, though, this counseling alliance is not about me.  It is about you, or your child, and the willingness you have to do the work, gain the insight, and make the changes that will be best for you, and or your family and will help to move you forward.  My philosophy and interventions are faith based, research supported, and very solution focused. With children, I will implement play therapy as a means to gain trust and insight into his/her motivations and the crisis that is being addressed. As an LPC Associate, I continue to be mentored and supervised by Mary Ann Sartori MA, LPC-S as I work to become a licensed LPC.  I look forward to gaining additional insight from her and  journeying with you to new perspectives and purposes in your one and only life. I am truly here to help you reach your highest goals.
